Tinge Of Yellow

$74.00

Peony Tinge of Yellow.is enigmatic and a bit of a farm mystery.

A few years back, I received a peice of this itoh cultivar from a peony collector friend. He’d previously purchased his original plant from a Canadian seller. My friend described ithe plant as a “light yellow, rare peony.”

He was right on all fronts.

The blooms are aptly named. The are a very pleasant, very light yellow. The form is single and ranges from a spare, almost structural, single to one that is a bit more rounded and full.

Further I’ve searched and can’t find another listing for this cultivar in the USA nor in Canda. Tinge of Yellow is not a registered variety.

A very garden worth plant, the blooms start in mid-season and it continues flowering to almost then end of the season here. The bush is nicely mounded and the simply blooms will not require support in the landscape. A perfect cultivar to add to a more mondern garden with a restricted color palette.

Grower’s Note: Because this is an unregistered, extremely rare cultivar, we have not yet found information on the hbridizer nor introduction year. In addition, other than confirming that our blooms match up to our peony collector friend’s blooms, we have not been able to confirm authenticity. We can confirm is that we have not seen a peony like “Tinge of Yellow” growing in the named itoh population. Please be aware of these limitations should you decide to purchase.
